Dr. Mahathir and the Chinese (& Other Races)

I salute Dr. Mahathir for calling it out, as it is. The Malaysian Chinese dominates the economy of Malaysia. But we are not "Pendatang". Can you imagine the African Americans calling themselves "foreigners"? For some, they were introduced to America by slave ships. The Native Americans should call the Whites. "foreigners" and the White such as Elon Musk and others are multi-billionaires? Why didn't Dr. M factor that? Because he has personal agenda to pursue.

Dr. M, created the race called "Bumiputera", he changed the time to one hour earlier, he had a Look East policy, he didn't take loans from World Bank to save Malaysia, he called the Malays, lazy. He criticises the Chinese for being urbanites, economic-savvy and having their own vernacular schools much like the Indians. He has a son who is a multi-millionaire. He talks about corruption and cronyism. And he is out of bullets.

So didn't the Indian-Malay-descent politician stop to think why Chinese are more "successful" than other races?

When you corner someone, by breaking one of his legs aka not giving him fundings like working Grants for business, system quota in education, and doing whatever that feels to be unfair, the race will be like the 300 Spartans. They will reserve their discipline and fight back harder. Even harder than any other race, to survive. We become more close-knit. Helping each other to succeed whilst others tarry.

It does not mean that the Chinese don't accept other races. I am more than willing to work with any race, provided they don't pull us down but push us forward. In fact, I shared plenty about working with other races and having an equitable share in the economy.

My teams shared in April 2021, Why Companies Fail to Grow included:

"It is observed that if a company doesn’t actively encourage diversity in its population

of employees such as folks from other races, from different age groups or from a

different gender, it will end up having a majority of its executive staff (representing

10-20% of the staff population) consisting of a single race group and gender.

With diverse backgrounds, companies can leverage unique thoughts and ideas, and

harnessed different cultures and values, to strengthen the organisation, allowing

better understanding of the people around us and to further digest both national and

international market responses."

In short, Malaysia should not be like Indonesia, the Philippines, Indonesia or Thailand. It should emulate Singapore, the UK and the US where their economies are so strong. Dr. M also erred in creating "Bumiputera". He should have created "Bangsa Malaysia" when he had the chance and that anyone of merit whether you are the Bajaus, Dayak, Orang Asli, Bangladesh, Nigerians etc. can be part of the nation-building.

Now we shall see what Madani Framework shall bring to us "Rakyat" and not just another rhetoric.
