The Case of a Bootlicker

You are not welcome here.

Why?

Because you are a hypocrite, a narcissist, an egoist, and a real bootlicker. Your ex-colleagues know, your ex-partners know, and basically, everyone in the market knows.

Luckily, the numbers are few.

Case 1: You were given a task, but you handed your task to others. Others work quietly and diligently, but not me. I marched passed the PA and told the Boss what you had done. He called for a meeting and asked for an explanation. And you practically lie through your teeth. Later, you came to me with your - "Look, I have 6 children here, I can't lose this job. Whereas you have nothing to lose."

Case 2: You called me to come for a meeting. You told me that you have your client to introduce me to. Your client came and we started to talk business. Later on your client and you have a word, then you go off for another meeting. What you did not know was that your client asked, "Do you know him for long?" I said, for some time. We are in the same committee. "Well, you need to choose better friends". Your client ended up being a good mate.

Case 3: When we met our client, you painted a glossy picture of what you would be doing for the client. Once the meeting was over, you went with vitriolic and up-yours gestures. Just because the client was an important person in the business and social communities, you pretended to adore the person with a personal goal intended. And you had expected me to play along. Unfortunately, I don't have time for petty games.

It boils down to "I don't care. I am correct, you are wrong."

There is no desire to learn from others and be humble. There is no desire for a dialogue. Ultimately, you want an audience to drive your agenda or maybe you do not have an agenda, but you expect people to keel over because of you. You have successfully to others and you would've expected the same results.

My organisations do not have bootlickers. They are trained that way or I picked them deliberately for their strength in open communication, where they can read, write, and speak eloquently with first-class ideas.

Similarly, when I meet politicians, business people, and everyone, I will ask them to call me by my name. Not my titles.

Even though some titles are very obvious, like in Malaysia - Datuk, Tan Sri, or Y.B, and in the UK it's Lord and Dame, if they go pompous-mode, I normally excuse myself, delete, and block. And if you think you are busier or more important than I, then my news is I am trying to reduce as many people I should be remembering about and as fast as I can from my life or send them to my gatekeepers.

Why are causes and stands important to my business?

We are humans.

If you are looking for an emotionless service, then there are many other service providers.

If you are looking for gratification for yourself but by contributing the least, again, you can find others to work with.

If you are looking for someone to call you "Tuan" or whatever titles you pretend is not important to you, but your eyes glow when people call you by that title and kow-tow to you, then you will be just a bootlicker, looking for other bootlickers.

My time is precious and they are for great clients cum reciprocal friends. Thank you.

Gray
